Ethiopia Records 58 More Covid Cases, Zero Fatality
ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia has recorded 58 fresh cases of Covid-19 and zero related deaths in the last twenty-four hours, a ministry of health report reveals.
The patients diagnosed with the Coronavirus on Monday have taken the confirmed total to more than 492,549.
Only 31 patients have also recuperated from Covid-19 in the reported period as the recovery count reaches 470,664.
The number of severe cases has stayed relatively the same as in the past three days. At least 20 patients who are seriously sick are still getting treatment in the hospital, the report notes.
These patients are among the 14,314 confirmed active cases of Covid in Ethiopia.
The ministry of health has also continued to record zero covid-19 related fatalities for three days in a row as per their report.
At least 7,569 people have lost their lives due to the respiratory disease caused by a coronavirus in Ethiopia since the pandemic hit the nation.
In response to tackle the pandemic, the East African nation is carrying out a nationwide vaccine drive. However, health officials’ report provides no additional data regarding the vaccine offered to the public in the last 24 hours.
Ethiopia rolled out the Covid-19 vaccine drive in March 2021. It has since administered more than 52.56 million doses of the covid vaccine, resulting in 43.1 million of its population being fully vaccinated against the Coronavirus.
The East African nation plans to take its Covid-19 vaccination coverage to 60 percent by the end of 2023.
