Covid-19: Ethiopia Reports 113 More Infections
ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia has recorded 113 new coronavirus cases in the last twenty-four hours, bringing its confirmed tally to 491,285, a ministry of health report reveals.
In the report issued on Tuesday evening, the Ministry says only 43 patients have recovered from the Covid-19 disease in the same period. This has taken the recovery count registered in the country, so far, to 468, 339.
The ministry also confirmed the death of one patient due to the acute respiratory disease caused by the coronavirus, pushing the nation’s Covid-related death toll to 7, 563.
Currently, there are 15,381 confirmed active cases of Covid-19 in Ethiopia.
One seriously sick patient has been admitted to the hospital today, notes the report that puts the severe cases total at 43.
Health officials say most severely sick patients admitted to hospital are unvaccinated individuals, urging the public to get the Covid vaccine shot to keep themselves and their loved ones safe from the deadly virus.
The East African Nation started offering Covid vaccine shots to its citizens in March 2021.
Since then, it has administered nearly 52.4 million doses of the Covid vaccine. Close to 42.95 million Ethiopians are also fully vaccinated against the coronavirus, said the Ministry of health.
