Ethiopia Confirms 116 New Covid Cases, Zero Death

ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia on Monday recorded 116 new coronavirus cases, bringing its confirmed tally to 490,486.

Only four covid-19 patients also recovered from the Covid-19 disease, the Ministry of health said. The recovery count currently stands at 466, 895.

The nation’s confirmed active cases total surpassed a 16,000 again after the new cases outnumbered recoveries on Monday.

Three more Covid patients have also been admitted to the hospital after they become seriously ill.

Health officials said there are now a total of 53 severe cases in the country, where about 7,552 succumbed to the virus.

No Covid related fatality has been reported on Monday.

Health officials are still urging the public to get the Covid vaccine shot to keep themselves and their loved ones safe from the deadly virus.

Ethiopia started offering Covid vaccine shots to its citizens in March of last year. Since then, it has administered over 52.2 million doses of the Covid vaccine.

More than 42.8 million people have also been fully vaccinated against the coronavirus, according to the latest report.
