ADDIS ABABA – Health Minister Dr. Lia Tadesse held discussion with Prof. Margaret E. Kruk and her team from the Harvard School of Public Health on Friday.
According to the health minister, the meeting discussed joint work with Harvard’s QuEST Network, a global partnership of researchers, governments, and others who are advancing health system quality research.
The Network aims to improve health system quality and reduce maternal and newborn deaths through generating evidence, said Dr. Lia.
The QuEST center in Ethiopia includes the Ministry of Health, Ethiopian Public Health Institute and Addis Ababa University together with the QuEST Global Network.
It is working on People’s voice Survey, MNH E-Cohort and on a feasibility assessment for service delivery redesign, according to the ministry of health.
“We are eager to use the evidence to continue improving our health system and health outcomes.,” tweeted Health Minister Dr. Lia in a brief message after the meeting.
In response, Prof. Kruk thanked the minister for the substantive conversation on health system quality. She also appreciated health officials’ determination to use evidence to steer Ethiopia’s health system to better performance for all Ethiopians.
