Chinese Pharmaceutical Firm to Make Pre-investment Visit Ethiopia

ADDIS ABABA – Southwest Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd, one of the top 100 Chinese pharmaceutical companies, is set to make a pre-investment visit to Ethiopia at the invitation of the government.

The invitation was extended during a virtual meeting held between Deputy Head of Mission of the Ethiopian embassy in China, Dawano Kedir, and Executive-Director of the company, Ya Xian, on Tuesday.

The deputy head noted that the government has made the pharmaceutical industry development one of its top priorities in Ethiopia during his brief to the company officials.

Ambassador Dawano highlighted the market opportunities and locations designated especially for foreign companies keen to invest in the sector.

He, then, extended an invitation for the Southwest officials to make a pre-investment visit to Ethiopia, reassuring them of the Embassy’s support to facilitate their tour.

Ya Xian, on his part, thanked the deputy mission head for the elaborated explanation.

Southwest’s Executive-Director said he will soon make a pre-investment visit to Ethiopia along with a delegation from the company, says MoFA.
