Health Minister, WFP Discuss Assistance For Conflict, Drought Affected Areas

ADDIS ABABA – Health Minister Dr. Lia Tadesse on Friday met with the new Country Director of World Food Program, Claude Jibidar to discuss support for conflict and drought hit communities.

“We discussed food and Nutrition assistance for conflict and drought affected regions and strengthening support particularly supplies for MAM,” said the minister after the meeting.

Officials say the two sides also explored ways to strengthen the overall efforts to improve nutrition and the food system in Ethiopia, including high impact interventions like school feeding to change lives.

Dr. Lia expressed gratitude to the World Food Programme for their continued support and partnership with Ethiopia.
