Coronavirus: Ethiopia 12 New Cases, 0 Recoveries
ADDIS ABABA – The Ministry of Health has reported 12 more Covid-19 cases on Sunday as Ethiopia continues to record zero related fatalities for nearly three weeks.
The new infections bring the confirmed tally in the nation to 470,949, the Ministry’s Covid-19 update issued on Sunday evening says.
No patient has recuperated from the acute respiratory disease in the last twenty-four hours, with total recoveries stays at 455, 757.
The number of severely sick patients has also remained the same. The nation has 7, 680 confirmed active cases. Eight of them are severely sick, the ministry says.
Despite a slight raise in new positive cases, the nation has continued to record zero new Covid-induced fatalities. No one has died due to Covid-19 in the last 24-hours, confirmes the ministry’s update on Sunday.
The last Covid-19 fatality was reported twenty-four days ago on April 20, 2022. Since then, the death toll remains at 7, 510.
The data regarding national vaccine drive in the lastest update remains unchanged as the immunization pace continues to stall.
Ethiopia has administered close to 29.45 million doses of the Covid-19 vaccine so far.
More than 24.5 million of its citizens are also fully vaccinated against the coronavirus with the help of two major vaccination campaigns authorities conducted since March, 2021.
The ministry of health is currently under preparation to launch a third-round nationwide vaccine drive, beginning the first week of June.
