Ethiopia Logs 35 New Covid-19 Cases, Zero Deaths

ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia has logged 20 novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) cases and zero related fatalities on Wednesday, the ministry of health reported.

Close to 3, 700 people have been tested for coronavirus in the last twenty-four hours to identify the latest positive cases, bringing the confirmed tally to 470, 833.

At least 455, 746 patients have already recuperated from the disease in the country where only 3 recoveries were registered on Wednesday.

The nation currently has 7, 575 confirmed active cases. Four of them are severely sick, health officials reported.

The ministry has also confirmed zero Covid-19 fatalities in the 24-hours period as the death toll remains at 7, 510.

The last Coronavirus related death was reported three weeks ago on April 20, 2022.

The data regarding national vaccine drive remains unchanged as the immunization pace stays at a standstill. Authorities are preparing to launch a third-round nationwide vaccination campaign early next month.

The previous two rounds of the vaccine drive have helped the nation to provide over 29.41 doses to the public. More than 24.5 million people are also fully vaccinated against the virus.

The first Covid vaccine was administered in Ethiopia in March, 2021.
