Ethiopian Tradition, Cuisine showcased at DC Cultural Festival
ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopian Embassy in Washington D.C took part in the Annual Passport DC World Embassy Tour Cultural Festival.
The annual Passport DC shines a light on the thriving diplomatic community of Washington, D.C. and its integral role in the cultural fabric of the national capital.
The Ethiopian embassy is among nearly 200 foreign missions and cultural institutions that open their doors to visitors, inviting them to share their culture, music, food and art.
The Embassy is showcasing unique Ethiopian articles and traditional items such as cuisine, the famous coffee ceremony, traditional clothes, music, musical instruments and several others.
The breathtaking tourist sites of Ethiopia were also promoted during the event, the foreign ministry said.
Several visitors of the festival tested the organic and special Ethiopian coffee and expressed their love of the taste and the coffee ceremony, it added. Some of the visitors also expressed their interest to travel to Ethiopia and visit the abundant tourist destinations.
In the opening day, the Ethiopian booth was visited by the Embassy of Ethiopia Deputy Head of Mission, Ambassador of African Union Mission to the USA and Secretary of District of Columbia of Ambassador, among others.
