ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia has recorded zero Covid-19 disease related deaths and 37 new infections on Wednesday, says a ministry of health report.
It is for two days in a row that the ministry has reported zero Covid fatalities in the nation. The death toll currently stands at 7, 508.
The report also says a further 37 new positive cases have been confirmed from 5,860 people tested for coronavirus in the past twenty-four hours.
The figure has taken the confirmed cases total in Ethiopia, so far, to 469, 916.
As many as 1, 021 patients have regained their health from Covid-19 on the day, pushing the recovery total to 451,446.
At least 14 severely sick patients, however, are still under treatment in health centers.
These patients are among 10, 960 confirmed active cases in the nation, according to the report.
Albeit at a relatively small rate, health officials have today resumed offering the Covid-19 vaccine after a pause for at least five days.
Over 6, 000 doses of Covid-19 vaccine have been given to the public in the past 24-hours, the report reveals.
The East African nation started offering the Covid-19 vaccine in March, 2021. To date, it has administered a total of 29.46 million doses of vaccines.
Over 24.5 million Ethiopians are also fully vaccinated against the virus, the ministry of health reports.
