ADDIS ABABA – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Demeke Mekonnen attended the 20th Doha Forum in Qatar, where he held bilateral meetings with officials of various countries and leaders of international agencies.
The Forum, held under the theme “Transforming for a New Era” over the weekend, was attended by top officials from several countries and companies.
The forum deliberated critical global and regional developments, providing clear directional and actionable recommendations, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Sunday.
On the margins of the forum, Demeke met with his Turkish counterpart Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu.
The two Foreign ministers discussed bilateral relations and current issues to further cement friendly relations between Ethiopia and Turkey, said MoFA.
The Deputy prime minister also met with Qatar Fund for Development Director-General, Khalifa Jassim Al-Kuwari.
During the meeting, Demeke lauded the multifaceted socio-economic support of the Fund to Ethiopia, and said it immensely enhanced the diplomatic ties of the two countries.
