Ethiopia Records Zero Covid Deaths for Two Consecutive Days

ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia has registered zero Covid-19 deaths for the second consecutive day on Tuesday.

In a statement on Tuesday evening, the ministry of health put the Covid-related death as zero and the death toll remains at 7, 486.

It also reported 69 new cases – the highest daily new cases since February 23, 2022.

The new infections were identified from nearly 6000 tests conducted within a twenty-four hours period.

In the same period, only 15 patients recovered from the acute respiratory disease, said the report that put the recovery tally at 241, 500.

There are 41,303 confirmed active cases in the country, and of which, 50 patients are severely sick, the Ministry reported.

Health officials also pushed ahead with its national immunization campaign on Tuesday.

More than 123, 000 doses of Covid-19 vaccine have been given to the public on the day, taking the total shots offered in the nation to nearly 29 million.

To date, as many as 24.24 million Ethiopians have also been fully vaccinated.
