Ethiopia Logs 19 New Cases, Zero Covid Deaths

ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia has registered zero daily Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) related deaths and 19 new cases on Friday, a ministry of health report indicates.

This is for the fourth day in the month of March that the country reported zero Covid-related deaths
Country’s Covid-19 related death toll currently stands at 7, 484.



The nation has also recorded one of the lowest daily new infections as well as recoveries in a day.

At least 19 people tested positive for the Coronavirus from 4, 850 tests conducted in the past twenty-four hours, taking the confirmed cases total to 269, 153.

Twenty-two patients have also recuperated from the disease in the same period, says the report that puts the recovery total at 421,433.

There are now 40, 234 confirmed active cases nationwide. At least 53 of them are seriously sick, the ministry says.



– Vaccine Drive –

Despite a slow infection trend, the East African nation has continued to offer a significant amount of Covid vaccine to the public.

In the past 24-hours, it has administered more than 362, 000 doses of Covid-19 vaccines, pushing the total number of vaccine shots given close to 28.5 million.

As many as 23.7 million people have also been fully vaccinated against the virus, say the ministry of health that gave the first shot of the vaccine in Ethiopia on March 13, 2021.
