Covid-19: Ethiopia Records 39 More Infections, 951 Recoveries

ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia’s Ministry of health has reported 39 additional cases of the novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) and 951 recoveries on Thursday.

The new infections, confirmed out of 5,031 tests conducted in the last twenty-four hours, bring the total confirmed cases to 469,134.

As many as 951 patients have recuperated from the acute respiratory disease in the same period, pushing the recovery tally to 40, 237, the Ministry reports.

Meanwhile, Ethiopia’s Covid-19 disease related death toll also reached 7,484 after two patients succumbed to the virus.

There are now 40, 237 confirmed active cases in the nation. At least 58 of them are seriously sick, the report notes

– Vaccine Drive –

Health officials are still urging people to be vigilant and stick with the health protocols including wearing face-masks and take the vaccine shot to keep themselves safe.

In the past 24-hours alone, more than 437 doses of the vaccine have been given to the public nationwide, the ministry reports.

Ethiopia has administered over 28.1 million doses of the Covid-19 vaccine so far.

More than 23.3 million people have also been fully vaccinated against the virus, says the ministry of health.
