Ethiopia Records Zero Covid-19 Deaths, 61 New Cases

ADDIS ABABE – Ethiopia has today reported no daily Coronavirus-related deaths for the first time in the year 2022.

Prior today, there had not been a day without confirmed Covid-19 fatality since December 12, 2021.

The national Covid-19 death toll now stands at 7,438, sa the Ministry of Health report.

On the same day, the country has confirmed 61 fresh cases and 50 recoveries, taking the infections tally to 468, 345 and recovery total to 409, 675.

There are now 51, 230 active cases, Of these, 125 are severely sick patients who are receiving medical treatments, reports the ministry.

Vaccine Drive

Health officials have continued push ahead with their vaccine drives on Sunday as well.

In the last 24-hours, over 1.3 million doses of Covid vaccine have been offered to the public.

The figure has taken the total number of doses administered so far to more than 17.6 million.

The East African nation, which started its vaccine drive in March last year, has fully immunised over 14.7 million people against the virus.
