President Sahlework Zewde Appoints 27 New Ambassadors

ADDIS ABABA – President Sahel-work Zewde has appointed 27 new ambassadors in line with article 71 of the constitution, according to the president’s office.

Sixteen of the newly appointed envoys are named as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, revealed office in statement on Wednesday.



Dr. Sileshi Bekele, Former minister of water and Energy, Shitaye Minaye, former deputy speaker of the house of parliament, and General Bacha Debele are among newly appointed ambassadors.

Accordingly, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary are,

– Dessie Dalkie
– Dr. Sileshi Bekele
– Gen Bacha Debele
– Gen Hassen Ibrahim
– Shitaye Minaye
– Prof. Fekadu Beyene
– Reshad Mohammad
– Jemal Beker
– Feysel Aliy
– Isayas Gota
– Tsega’ab Kibebew
– Tafa Tulu
– Dr. Genet Teshome
– Daba Debele
– Fekadu Beyene
