Health Ministry Receives 100 Respiratory Ventilators Donation

ADDIS ABABA – Health Ministry has received at least 100 respiratory ventilators donation from Sante Group in support of its Covid pandemic response and restoration efforts of conflict-affected medical facilities in northern Ethiopia.



The group made the donations worth over 630, 000 US dollars in collaboration with Adam Elson and Good for Life, according to the ministry of health.

“My heartfelt appreciation for the donation of 100 respiratory ventilators,” tweeted health Minister Dr Lia Tadesse after receiving the machines on Wednesday.

The Minister also expressed her “sincere appreciation” to Modern Eth Plc., Alpha Trading Plc and all other contributors that have fully covered the transportation cost to Ethiopia.



“These equipment will play a critical role for the restoration efforts of damaged health facilities and enhance critical care capacity for the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic,” she added.

As of Tuesday evening, Ethiopia, which confirmed its first Covid case in March 2020, identified a total of 463,047 infections.

Country’s confirmed active Covid cases count currents stands at 66, 690. Of these, at least 352 of them are severely sick and are in Intensive care units care, according to Ministry’s latest update on the pandemic.
