Covid-19: Ethiopia Records 4,700 More Cases
ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia recorded 4,700 new COVID-19 on Wednesday, taking the nationwide tally to more than 410,000, according to the ministry of Health.
The ministry reported five new COVID-related fatalities and 387 recoveries, taking the national death and recovery toll to 6,916 and 354,174, respectively.
Ethiopia, Africa’s second most populous nation, has so far reported the largest number of COVID-19 cases in the East Africa region.
The country, which reported its first case in March last year, has confirmed 410, 445 cases after testing nearly 4.1 million people.
Amid its national push for vaccination, Ethiopia has administered 10,903,669 doses of Covid vaccines, according to the ministry.
Ethiopia started providing the vaccine to the public on March 13, 2021. Since then, over 9.34 million people have been fully vaccinated against the Virus.
