Ethiopia Reports over 784 New COVID-19 Cases, 7 Deaths
ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia’s coronavirus case tally surged to more than 75,300 after it reported 784 new infections on Wednesday, the Ministry of Health said.
Over 6100 people have been tested for the virus to find the new positive cases of COVID-19.
Deaths from coronavirus infections also rose by 7 in twenty-four hours to 1, 198, said the ministry in its daily report.
At least 269 patients remain seriously ill and hospitalized for respiratory disease. They are among 42, 964 active cases of COVID-19 that the country currently has, according to the daily report.
The ministry also reported a similar number of recovery cases as Tuesday indicating 199 patients have regained their health. The latest figure took the recovery tally to 31, 204.
To date, health authorities have tested more than 1.27 million people and confirmed 75, 368 positive cases.
