Coronavirus: Ethiopia Reports 175 New Cases, 10 Fatalities

ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia has recorded 175 new cases of the novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) on Sunday, bringing the confirmed infections tally to more than 368, 800.

Close to 4, 000 people have been tested in the last twenty-four hours to identify the new positive cases, says the ministry of health in its Covid report for the day.

The country has also recorded 10 more Coronavirus-induced deaths and 379 additional recoveries in the same period, pushing the death toll to 6, 623 and recoveries tally to 344, 707.

There are now 285 seriously sick Covid-19 patients in the country, reveals the report that puts the active cases count at 17, 490.

Health officials are currently urging people to keep themselves safe from the deadly disease by wearing face masks and social distance, among others.

The number of doses of Covid-19 vaccines provided to the public remains the same as it was at the end of the previous 24-hours.

As of Saturday evening, a total of 5, 066, 269 doses of vaccines were offered to the public, the ministry reveals.

The ministry started the ongoing vaccination drive, which started on March 13, this year, has fully vaccinated 3.67 million Ethiopians.
