Kenya’s President Uhuru Kenyatta Arrives in Addis Ababa
ADDIS ABABA – President of Kenya Uhuru Kenyatta has began his visit to Ethiopia on Sunday afternoon.
Top government officials including Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, accorded him a warm welcome up on his arrival at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport.
“My dear brother President Uhuru Kenyatta, welcome to your second home,” said Prime Minister Abiy in a message posted on Twitter.
Kenyatta last came to Ethiopia’s capital to attend the inauguration of Prime Minister Abiy on October 4, 2021
His latest visit to Addis Ababa came days before a scheduled visit by the U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken to Kenya.
Blinken and Kenyatta “will discuss our shared interests as members of the U.N. Security Council, including addressing regional security issues, such as Ethiopia, Somalia, and Sudan,” according to State Department.
