Trio Discuss Ethiopia’s Comprehensive Investment Strategy in Mining

ADDIS ABABA – Top officials of three government offices on Friday discussed the comprehensive investment strategy of Ethiopia’s mining sector.

After the discussion, Minister of Mines Takele Uma said his office teamed up with the Trade Ministry and the Ethiopian Investment Commission to realize the strategy and opportunities in the mining sector.



“We have the ability to transform the living standards of our people through growth-promoting policies & we continue to push to realize these opportunities,” said Takele.

Mineral export is one of Ethiopia’s major foreign currency earners. The country exports gold, silver, tantalum, gemstones and marble.

The East African nation earned a total of $3.62 billion Dollars from export trade in the previous 2020/21 fiscal year, which ended on July 7. Mining sector contributed $668 million Dollars to the total earning.
