Uganda Beat Ethiopia in WAFCON 2022 Qualifiers

ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia’s Women national football Team lost 2-0 to Uganda as the Lucy’s face a daunting task in their quest to qualify for African Cup of Nations 2022 in Morocco.

Uganda’s Crested Crane took first the leg advantage in a game played at St Mary’s Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.



Crested Cranes’ Riticia Nabbosa scored in the 2nd minute while Fauzia Najjemba netted in 76th minute to grant Uganda

The return leg will be played in Addis Ababa’s Abebe Bikila Stadium on Saturday.

“We hope the Lucy’s will overturn the deficit in the second leg in Addis Ababa and progress to the next round,” said Ethiopian Football federation in a brief statement.

The winner of the two will face off with neighbors Kenya in the second round. Kenya’s national women’s football team Harambee Starlets lead South Sudan’s the Bright Starlets 8-0 in the first leg match also played on the same day.
