COVID-19: Ethiopia Records 1, 575 New Cases, 43 Deaths
ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia has recorded 1, 575 more novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) cases on Tuesday, pushing the national confirmed tally to 335, 273, data from the ministry of health reveals.
The latest cases have been identified after the country tested a total of 10, 463 people in the past twenty four hours.
A further 43 people have also died due to the acute respiratory disease in the day, taking the death toll to 5, 207.
Ethiopia now has 26, 475 active cases. Of which, 789 patients are severely ill, the Ministry reports.
As mansy asn 1, 804 patients have also recuperated from the disease in the reported period, bringing the national recovery count to 303, 589.
The Ministry is still urging the public to observe the health advice put in place including wearing face masks, social distancing and proper hand washing as it pushes ahead with its national immunization campaign on Tuesday.
In the last 24-hours period, nearly 40, 441 Covid-19 vaccine doses were administered in the country, according to the report.
Ethiopia launched the vaccination drive on March 13, 2021. To date, it has vaccinated nearly 2.6 million people against Covid-19.
