Lighting Strikes Kill Four People in Jimma Zone
ADDIS ABABA – Lightning strikes reportedly killed at least four people in Jimma Zone of Ethiopia’s Oromia region on Thursday.
The incident occurred around 10am local time in Efeta kebele of Nono Benja district, reported Fana Broadcasting.
The four people were engaged in farming activities under a heavy rain when they were struck by the lighting.
All four were killed on the spot together with a cow, the report said.
Although not deadly, thunderstorms are common in the country during its main rainy season which runs from June to September.
