COVID-19 Cases tally Reaches 272,000
ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia has recorded 246 more COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, taking the nationwide tally to 272,036, the Health Ministry reported.
In its daily new cases, the ministry also reported seven Covid-19 deaths and 2,967 more recoveries from the respiratory disease.
These figures push the national counts of death and recoveries to 4,178 and 242,442, respectively.
There are now 377 severely ill patients of Covid-19 in the East African nation, says the report which put the total number of confirmed active cases at 25,414.
Ethiopia, Africa’s second-most populous country, has so far reported the largest number of cases in the East African region after testing more than 2.83mln people.
As of Wednesday evening, a total of 1, 838, 569 people have been vaccinated against the Covid-19 vaccine.
