Ethiopia Obtains Over $2.45 Billion Revenue from 9-Month Export

ADDIS ABEBA – Ethiopia has earned 2.45 billion birr from export trade in the first nine months of the current 2020/21 budget year, the Ministry of Trade and Industry said on Friday.

The nine-month export revenue has shown a 17 percent increase when compared to the same period of the previous fiscal year.

The figure, however, is 16 percent short of the ministry’s target for the period.

Sectorwise, the ministry said it has managed to accomplish 84%, 72%, and 95% of its export targets agricultural, industrial and mineral products, respectively.

From agricultural products that the Ministry gives due attention, the country has earned 745.9 million dollar revenue, its report said.
