ADDIS ABABA – Addis Ababa City administration announced on Thursday it has collected more than 32.3bln birr during the first nine-month period of the current 2020/21 Ethiopian fiscal year.
“During this challenging time, we have accomplished 97 percent of our plan over the past nine months,” said Adanech Abiebie, deputy mayor of the city.
The deputy mayor said this during an event organized to recognize 178 taxpayers for their exemplary work.
“Taxpayers should be commended for their contribution to the common growth and development of the city,” she said.
The amount collected is a billion birr short of the city’s target for the period.
The figure has, however, shown a 3bln birr increase as compared to a similar period of the previous fiscal year.
