ADDIS ABABA – Addis Ababa Traffic Management Agency has launched on Tuesday a smart traffic fine application to allow drivers to immediately resolve their tickets.
The app will make resolving traffic tickets simpler and more efficient while still being fair for all citizens, said Jiregna Hirpa, director of the agency, during a presser on Tuesday.
Drivers can now pay their fine ticket from their phones via E-Birr, confirm the payment to the traffic officer who issued the ticket via text, and retrieve their driving license in a short period of time.
The agency said it is already in agreement with four commercial banks – Commercial Bank of Ethiopia, Dashen Bank, Awash Bank, and Cooperative Bank of Oromia – that are delivering E-Birr services. ]
The app will ease the hassle possible hassles that may arise with a sharp increase in the number of vehicles and traffic congestion in the city.
