Ethio Telecom Launches 4G Mobile Network in Southern Ethiopia

ADDIS ABABA – Ethio Telecom has today launched its LTE Advanced 4G mobile network service in six major towns of the SNNP regional state.

Wolaita Sodo, Wolkite, Jinka, Arbaminch, Butajira, and Hosa’ena are the towns where the service started on Thursday.

Ethio Telecom, the sole provider of telecom services in Ethiopia, has made the launch the new service the region official in a ceremony held in Wolaita Sodo.

Frehiwot Tamru, CEO of Ethio Telecom, on the occasion said the new advanced mobile network would benefit a total of 600, 000 residents of the region.

The latest launch is a part Ethio Telecom’s effort to avail the 4G mobile network in 103 towns across Ethiopia.
