COVID-19: Ethiopia Registers 1, 948 More Cases
ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia has recorded at least 1, 948 more coronavirus (Covid-19) infections, ministry of health reported on Monday.
The Ministry said about 7, 709 people have been tested for coronavirus in the past twenty-four hours to identify the new positive cases of COVID-19.
The Ministry’s daily Covid-19 report also shows additional 34 patients have lost their lives due to Covid-related complications.
The latest case tally has pushed the death toll in the country to 3, 208.
The number of hospitalizations has continued to increase for two consecutive days.
A dozen more Covid-19 patients have been hospitalized over the past twenty-four hours, according to the report.
The report shows 983 patients are currently receiving medical treatment in Intensive care units after they become severely ill.
They are among the 55, 754 confirmed active cases registered nationwide.
In the past 24-hours, health officials said 1, 347 patients have recuperated after contracting the virus.
The East African nation confirmed its first coronavirus case on March 13, 2020. Since then, it has confirmed a total of 230, 944 infections after conducting more than 2.45mln tests.
