ADDIS ABABA – Half of the students who sat for the 2020 grade 12 national exam have scored 350 and more, revealed Ethiopia’s Examinations Agency.
The announcement came hours after Ethiopia’s Education Ministry said the results will be made official in the coming 48-hours.
Briefing reporters, a top official of the National Educational Assessment and Examinations Agency (NEAEA) said improvement both in terms of results and number of examinees has been observed this year.
Nearly 320, 000 students took the exam earlier this month following a Covid-19 induced delay.
Up to 55.7% of students who sat for national exam have scored 350 and above, said Dr. Dilamo Otore, director of the agency.
Besides, at least 700 Students have scored 600 and beyond, he told reporters today.
Dr. Dilamo has said 669 is the highest score recorded among the students who took the 202O national exam.
The agency announced students know their results via its website or 8181 text messages starting from Tuesday, 2021.
Education officials are expected to announce the university entrance points soon, the official said.
