Electoral Board Receive 22 Vehicles Support from EU, Germany

ADDIS ABABA – European Union and Germany handed over 22 vehicles to National Electoral Board of Ethiopia (NEBE) as part of their effort to bolster the board’s capacity.

In a statement issued on Thursday, Delegation of the EU to Ethiopia said the latest support was made “in the context of strengthening its capacity and structures” the electoral board.



The vehicles handed over to NEBE on Thursday are composed of 10 Pick Ups and 12 Hard Tops.

“In light of the ongoing reform process in Ethiopia… it is paramount that the election board is adequately equipped to perform its core mandate of delivering credible national elections while working to ensure sustainability of democratic gains,” the delegation said.

Ethiopia is set to hold general elections for members of the federal parliament and regional councils on June 5, 2021.
