Ethiopia Confirms 572 Covid-19 New Cases, 2 Deaths

ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia has recorded 572 new Covid-19 infections and 2 deaths on Tuesday, according to its Ministry of Health.

The country has tested nearly 5, 000 people for the coronavirus in the past twenty-four hours to identify the new positive cases.



A further two people have passed away due to covid-19, pushing the death toll in the country to 2, 158. The country confirmed its first COVID-19 related death on April 15.

Today’s covid-19 report has shown an increase in the number of hospitalization by 13 patients when compared to the preceding day.

At least 238 covid patients are now getting medical attention inside medical institutions after they become severely ill. They are among 15, 402 confirmed active cases in the country, according to the ministry’s report.

During the same period, the ministry says 248 patients of the respiratory disease have recuperated. The figure has taken the recovery tally in the country so far to over 126, 000.

The East African nation has tested more than 2mln people and confirmed 143, 566 infections since its health officials identified Country’s first coronavirus case on March 13, 2020 .
