COVID-19: Ethiopia Reports 292 New Cases, 13 Deaths

ADDIS ABEBA – Ethiopia has registered 292 more COVID-19 cases on Thursday as the total number of confirmed cases reached 132, 326.

The new positive cases have been identified after the country conducted nearly 4000 COVID-19 medical tests on the day, according to the ministry of health.



In its daily covid report, the ministry has also said the death of 13 covid patients, taking the death to 2, 057.

At least 225 patients are currently in hospital after becoming seriously ill, health officials said, adding they are among the current 12, 261 confirmed active cases in the country.

On the same day, at least 653 patients have recovered from the deadly respiratory illness caused by coronavirus.

To date, Ethiopia has conducted more than 1.9mln tests since health officials confirmed first case in mid-March, 2020.
