COVID-19: Ethiopia Reports 220 More Cases, 11 Deaths

ADDIS ABEBA – Ethiopia has recorded additional 220 coronavirus cases and 11 Covid-related deaths on Saturday, a data from the Ministry of Health claims.

In its daily report, the ministry says the country identified the new cases after testing nearly 4, 000 people for coronavirus, which causes the deadly respiratory illness.

The latest death figure has put the total number of people who lost their lives due to Covid-19 , so far, to 1, 985.

Currently, there are 12, 510 confirmed active cases in the country. Of these, 200 patients are critically ill, says the report.

The report also claims at least 113 patients have recovered from the disease, taking the recovery tally to 113, 295.

The East African nation reported its first coronavirus case on March 13, 2020. Since the pandemic started in the country, health officials have tested 1, 844, 719 people and reported 127, 792 infections.
