Ethiopia Reports 512 more Coronavirus cases, 10 Deaths

ADDIS ABEBA – Ethiopia has recorded 512 more Coronavirus cases on Friday, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to more than 112, 000, its Ministry of Health said.

Over 5, 600 people have been tested for the virus in twenty-four hours to identify the new positive cases, the ministry reported.

Additional 10 people have also passed away due to the respiratory disease, pushing the death toll to 1, 734.

Currently, there are over 31, 700 confirmed active cases in Ethiopia. Of these, 322 patients have been hospitalized after falling severely ill, according to ministry’s daily Covid-19 report

The ministry also said 1, 215 patients have recuperated in the 24-hours, bringing the number recoveries to more than 78, 619.

The East African nation has conducted nearly 1.66mln tests since the first coronavirus case confirmed on March 13, and identified over 112, 000 infections.
