COVID-19: Ethiopia Registers 4, 493 Recoveries in a day
ADDIS ABEBA – At least 4, 493 people have recovered from Covid-19 in a day, Ethiopia’s Ministry of Health said on Monday.
The figure is the highest the country has registered in a day since health officials registered the first case on March 13, 2020.
To date, more than 73, 808 people have regained their health after contracting the virus, according to the Ministry’s daily Covid report.
The report also showed that the number confirmed cases in the east Africa nation has surpassed 110, 000 after health officials recorded 450 new infections on Monday.
The new positive cases have been identified from nearly 4, 817 tests conducted in the day.
The ministry also said additional 6 people have died due to the respiratory illness, bringing the death tally to 1, 706.
Currently, there are 34, 558 confirmed active cases in Ethiopia. Of these cases, at least 323 Covid patients are in the intensive care unit after falling critically ill, health ministry said.
To date, the East African nation has tested nearly 1.64 million people for coronavirus and confirmed 110, 075 cases.
