Ethiopia Reports 418 New Coronavirus Infections, 4 Deaths

ADDIS ABEBA – Ethiopia has recorded 418 more Coronavirus Infections on Monday, taking the national tally to more than 106, 000.

Nearly 5000 tests have been conducted over the past twenty-four hours to identify the new positive cases, according to the ministry of health.

A further 4 people have died during the same period, pushing the death toll to 1, 651.

Currently, there are over 38, 700 confirmed active case in the country. Of these, at least 326 patients are hospitalized after getting severely ill, according to the ministry.

Health officials also said additional 148 patients have recuperated over pas 24-hours. To date, nearly 68, 000 people have regained their health after contracting the virus that causes the respiratory disease.

The country has so far conducted more than 1.6mln laboratory tests, since its first case confirmed on March13 , and identified 106, 203 infections.
