Ethiopia Records 560 New COVID-19 Infections, 5 Deaths
ADDIS ABEBA – Ethiopia has registered at least 560 new positive cases of coronavirus, its Ministry of Health reported on Tuesday evening.
The new positive cases have been identified after a total of 5, 364 testes conducted over the past twenty-four hours across the nation.
The Ministry also noted that 5 people have lost their lives due to the virus, taking the tally since the start of the pandemic to 1, 494.
There are now 40, 752 active cases and, of these, 346 are severely ill and are under treatment in Covid-19 medical centers, reported the Ministry.
Today’s Covid-19 report also indicated that 849 patients have recovered from the respiratory disease, taking the total figure to 55, 254.
Ethiopia has so far tested nearly 1.5mln people for coronavirus since the first case confirmed in March, and identified 97, 502 infections.
