Ethiopia’s COVID-19 Confirmed Cases Nears 95, 000

ADDIS ABABA – The number of confirmed coronavirus infections in Ethiopia has reached nearly 95, 000 after the ministry of health reported 602 more infections on Wednesday.

The new positive cases are identified from nearly 6, 290 tests conducted over the past twenty-four hours.

In its daily Covid-19 report, the ministry also indicated 6 more Covid-19 deaths, bringing the total number of people who passed away due to the virus to 1, 451.

At least 315 Covid-19 patients are currently seeking medical attention after they fell severely ill, according to the Ministry’s report which puts the number of active cases to nearly 43, 481.

Today’s report also claimed that at least 918 patients have recovered from the respiratory disease caused by coronavirus. To date, more than 49, 886 patients have regained their health after contracting the virus.

The East African nation confirmed its first case of COVID-19 on March 13. Since then, it has tested more than 1.46 million people for the virus and confirmed 94, 820 cases.
