Ethiopia Records 640 New COVID-19 Cases, 14 Deaths

ADDIS ABABA – A total of 640 more positive cases of coronavirus were recorded in Ethiopia on Tuesday, the Ministry of Health said.

The new cases have been identified after over 5200 People tested for the virus ver the past twenty-four hours.

The Ministry of Health also said 14 new deaths had been reported, taking the tally since the start of the pandemic to 1, 191.

Currently, there are 42, 439 active cases and, of these, 271 are severely ill, reported health officials.

Health officials also noted 199 patients of COVID-19 have recovered from the respiratory disease, taking the total figure to nearly 31, 000.

Ethiopia has so far tested close to 1.27mln people for coronavirus since the first case confirmed in March, and identified 74, 584 infections.
