ADDIS ABABA – Some 274 Ethiopian nationals have been repatriated from Saudi Arabia on Wednesday, according to Ministry of foreign affairs (MFA) of the East African nation.
Upon their arrival, government officials from the ministry have welcomed the returnees at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport.
“Welcome home! Thank you all for diligently working to assure safe and dignified repatriation,” said Tsion Teklu, State Minister for Economic Diplomacy and Diaspora Affairs at MFA.
Last week, the ministry announced its plan to repatriate at least 1, 440 nationals from Saudi Arabia between today and October 6.
The repatriation will take pace in joint cooperation between the Ministry, Saudi Arabia government, and the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
