Ethiopia Registers Over 800 New COVID-19 Infections, 10 Deaths
ADDIS ABEBA – Ethiopia registered over 800 new coronavirus infections over 24 hours, the health ministry said on Thursday after testing more than 20, 700 people.
The health ministry reported that the cumulative total of confirmed cases increased to 55, 213, up by 804.
Officials also said additional 10 coronavirus patients passed away on the day, taking the death toll to 856.
The country currently has more than 34, 000 active cases with the number of people in severe condition increasing slightly.
During the past twenty-four hours, the ministry said the number of people in intensive care with the disease rose up by 3 to 306.
According to health officials, the number of recoveries also exceeded 20, 000 mark on the day, after 380 patients recovered from COVID-19, a deadly respiratory disease caused by a coronavirus.
