Ethiopia Records 1, 105 new COVID-19 Cases, 18 Deaths

ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia has recorded 1, 105 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 over the past day, Ministry of Health reported on Wednesday.

Over the past twenty-four hours, the country has tested 21, 360 people for the virus to identify the latest cases, according to the Ministry.



A further 18 patients of COVID-19 have died within the reported period, it added.

Currently, the East African country has 33, 658 active cases. This includes 303 serious cases who are receiving treatment in health facilities, said the ministry.

Over the past twenty-four hours, at least 416 patients have recovered from the disease, taking the total number of recoveries to 19, 903.

The East African nation has been increasing the number of tests it is conducting, particularly in areas with local outbreaks since the beginning of August. To date, the nation tested nearly 950, 000 people and confirmed 54, 409 cases including 846 deaths.
