Ethiopia Records 565 New COVID-19 Cases, 17 Deaths

ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia’s Ministry of Health reported 565 more COVID-19 infections on Sunday as the total confirmed cases in the country exceeds 22, 800 mark.

The country tested 9,035 individuals over the past 24 hours to identify the latest cases of COVID-19 – a deadly respiratory disease caused by coronavirus.

Today’s report also noted that 17 patients of COVID19 have died, taking the fatality toll to 407.

During the period, a total of 499 patients have recovered from the disease. The latest figure has brought the number of recoveries in Ethiopia so far to 10, 206.

There are now 12, 203 active cases in Ethiopia, according to Sunday’s report, which also said 163 of these patients are in severe condition.

Since the country identified its first case in mid March, Ethiopia has tested 497,971 individuals for coronavirus and confirmed 22, 818.
