Ethiopia Reports 707 New COVID-19 Cases; 28 Deaths

ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia reported a record increase in new COVID-19 deaths on Sunday, with 28 fatalities in the last 24 hours, according to Ministry of health.

Apart from the death toll, the country is registering an increase in new cases of COVID-19, a deadly respiratory illness caused by coronavirus.

The Ministry reported 707 new infections, bringing its total infections to over 18, 708. Ethiopia’s total death toll rose to 310.

The latest cases identified after the country tested 7067 individuals over the past twenty-four hours.

The report indicates that 406 patients have recovered during the period.

Currently, the country has 10, 793 active cases. Of these, it says 153 are in severe condition.

To date, Ethiopia has conducted 437, 319 laboratory tests.
