ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia’s COVID-19 case count has surpassed 15,000 mark on Tuesday as 653 more people tested positive for the disease.
Ministry of Health identified the new cases after testing 6503 people over the past twenty-four hours.
Ethiopia has now reported 15, 200 COVID-19 cases as health officials continue to record spikes in new daily cases.
During the period, the Ministry also noted that 11 more patients had succumbed to COVID-19 bringing the total death toll to 239.
Currently, the East African country has 8433 active cases of COVID-19, a disease caused by coronavirus. Of these, 66 are in serious condition, according to the Ministry of health’s report on Tuesday.
Health authorities also reported 170 recovery cases during the period, taking the total number to 6526.
The total number of tests conducted in the country so far stands at 395, 851.
