Ethiopia Reports 185 More COVID-19 Cases; 115 Recoveries
ADDIS ABEBA – Ethiopia has reported 185 new coronavirus infections on Tuesday, taking the total number of confirmed cases to 4, 848.
In its daily report, the Ministry of Health said individuals – 138 female and 47 male – tested positive after 3, 775 tests conducted in the past twenty-four hours.
All except one are Ethiopian nationals, according to the4 report.
The ministry also reported 105 patients have been identified from Ethiopians who recently returned from abroad and put in an isolation center in Addis Ababa.
The capital also recorded 55 more people infected with the virus as local transmission continues to rise.
SNNP (7), Oromia (7), Afar (4), Somali (2), Amhara (2), Tigray (1), Gambella (1) and Harari (1) regional states recorded the remaining cases.
Currently, the country has 3389 active cases. Today’s report said 38 patients remain in severe condition.
The ministry also said 115 patients of COVID-19 have recovery from the virus while no COVID-19 related deaths reported over the past 24 hours.
The recovery cases have been recorded in six regions. But the majority of them are from Addis Ababa (81) and Amhara region (26).
Oromia (6), Harari (2), Benishangul-Gumuz (2) and Tigray (1) reported the remaining cases taking the total number of recoveries in Ethiopia so far to 1412.
To date, Ethiopia tested 223, 341 individuals for coronavirus and confirmed 4, 848 cases including 75 deaths.
