Ethiopia Confirms Two New COVID-19 Cases

ADDIS ABABA – Ministry of health has reported two new cases of coronavirus, taking the number of confirmed cases in Ethiopia to 263.

At least 2650 people have been tested in various laboratories across the nation in the past twenty-four hours. “Two of these confirmed positive for the COVID-19,” says the ministry in its daily report.



The patients are Ethiopian nationals and they are aged 24 and 33 years old. Both were under quarantine in Tigray and Somali regional state upon returning from neighboring nations.

Meanwhile, additional two patients have recovered from the virus, according to the report. The ministry says the two recovered individuals are residents of Addis Ababa.

The two cases have brought the number of recovery cases in Ethiopia to 108.

Ethiopia reported its first case of coronavirus on 12 March. Since then it has tested over 41, 600 people and has so far confirmed 163 cases including five deaths.
